“Adrenalina meets Museo Omero and Istituto Cavazza”
A curatorial co-design project born from the encounter between blind and visually impaired individuals and Adrenalina’s design, developed in collaboration with the Museo Tattile Statale Omero in Ancona and the Istituto dei Ciechi Francesco Cavazza in Bologna
Adrenalina Meets Museo Omero and Istituto Cavazza is the second curatorial project by Adrenalina, under the artistic direction of Debonademeo Studio. It is part of a five-year series of cultural initiatives launched in 2024, designed to foster exchanges of ideas and knowledge that enrich the brand’s DNA through multidisciplinary experiences.
In 2025, the collaboration with the Museo Tattile Statale Omero in Ancona and the Istituto dei Ciechi Francesco Cavazza in Bologna gave rise to a new dialogue between design and the world of visual disability.
The project unfolded over the course of a year, step by step, through meetings, workshops, listening, and open dialogue. It was a shared journey with a large and diverse group of blind and visually impaired individuals, with different ages, backgrounds, and life stories—many of whom were engaging with the world of design for the first time.
Together, they explored the Adrenalina universe using all senses except sight, bringing forth their own idea of beauty and usability in relation to seating objects.
From this collective experience, AEDO was born: a modular and sensorial sofa resulting from a truly co-designed process.
An object conceived not from form, but from experience—personal, physical, shared. A sofa that welcomes and orients, that acts as a mediator between people and space. A piece that tells a new story about design: more conscious, more human, where blind individuals claim their right to beauty and express it to the sighted world.
A sofa designed by blind and visually impaired people — and made for everyone.

The project was grounded in the belief that beauty arises from the balance between function, proportion, and sensation. Throughout its development, a strong need emerged: the desire of blind and visually impaired people to access and enjoy beauty as well.
Aedo is not just a sofa: it is the result of a physical and emotional relationship between people and the object — a medium through which one can find orientation, connection, and a sense of welcome.
The collaboration between the design world and a diverse group of blind and visually impaired individuals enabled the exploration of new design approaches, highlighting often overlooked aspects such as spatial perception, psychophysical well-being, and the sensory quality of the living experience.
