Le Clochart

Le Clochart is a creative project born in 2020. Ilaria Milandri, from Forlì, a graduate of the State Art Institute of Forlì and later of the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna, and Jessica Di Vito, from Pesaro, a kinesiologist by profession, with an innate inclination and passion for drawing and graphics, have found their meeting point in art, despite completely different artistic and life experiences. The artists draw with four hands and their first works were born out of necessity, as an escape from a reality that is always too homologated. Coming from different creative paths that are distant in time and space, their works produce artistic results that start from a clash of paths that then come together to form continuous lines that become themes, dense embroideries, dense, provocative and destabilising shapes filled with bright colours. The power of their works lies precisely in the impossibility of distinguishing the hand of each of them, it is a fusion of rules created and then destroyed, ignoring the how, but always aiming at the what, at what it represents and what it affects. They work on paper, canvas and walls, with acrylics and tempera, and their unmistakable hand is then transferred to fabrics, paintings, objects, clothing, all in limited series.

“Our works seem to come from our hands, but in reality they come from our minds. Our characters and textures are our imperfections that find space on paper and through paint. They are the energies gathered and expressed through our hands, they are the details we observe every day that can only be told through drawing”
